I moved to ACNJ in September. I’ve been biking for fitness and for over 35 years and did a little racing back in the day, although I haven’t ridden much since moving north from SoFL in 2016.
I live about a mile north on Ventnor Ave. from AAAA, so I stopped in to check it out and see if it was “my kind of bike shop.” It was and is.
Crammed with bikes and accessories with an organized and well equipped repair area staffed by competent and helpful mechanics and a couple of pretty cool doggos.
The extensive local, pro sports and Americana collectibles that are tucked in the nooks and crannies alone are worth stopping by to check out.
I’ve bought a helmet, cycling shoes, new pedals required for those shoes, Boardwalk worthy tires and inner tubes, bar end extenders, padded bar tape and a wall mount bike storage rack and three tie dye AAAA Bike Shop t-shirts, so far.
When I stopped in to have the bar end extenders installed, they also did a full tune up my bike, adjusting the brakes, chain and shifters and Mike didn’t charge me for the tune up.
Locally owned “legacy” retailers deserve to be supported because you get personalized, friendly service and expert advice, which is worth much more than the little bit extra you might pay for an item there versus ordering it online. They also support the local community charitable and municipal government events wholeheartedly.
You don’t get that from Big Box stores or online retailers. Stop in and say hello to Mike and meet Theo and Sophie when you have a chance. You won’t regret it.

As a lifetime resident of Absecon Island (84 years) there has never been a bike shop like AAAA. More importantly, there has never been an owner as courteous , generous, and civic minded as Mike Wiesen. I’m proud to call him friend!!
The owner Mike is one of the nicest Gentleman i have had the pleasure of meeting when i take my broken bikes in for repairs.
He and his staff make a repair an enjoyable and positive experience .
He spent 30 minutes himself fixing the chain on my daughter`s Special Needs tricycle when it broke down, and then didn`t want to charge me anything for fixing it !
I gave him money to buy his Staff ( also wonderful service ) a drink at the end of the day.
Best bike shop anywhere–we are all very lucky to have them .
