Atlantic City Waking Up to Aggressive Land Grab by Atlantic Shores Wind.

Action News Coverage

Another sizable turnout on Tuesday morning. Concerned citizens gathered on the Atlantic City Boardwalk protesting a planned takeover of prime, Atlantic City neighborhoods by Atlantic Shores Wind.

Presentations were made at the site (Next to RITZ condos) where Atlantic Shores wants to beach and bury high-voltage power lines. These cables would bring electricity from the planned 100+ offshore wind turbines.

Should New Jersey be dependent on a foreign-based energy company?

Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind is a 50:50 partnership between Shell New Energies and EDF Renewables North America. Shell plc is a British multinational oil and gas company headquartered in London, England.

NOTE: High-voltage cables are capable of emitting harmful EMF, electro magnetic fields.

Atlantic Shores power lines will be buried under the public beach, boardwalk, portions of Bader Field, Atlantic City Boathouse as well as local family playground, Pete Pollitto Field.

Why are so few Atlantic City residents aware of this major land grab?

Contributing factors could include poor / slanted news coverage by corporate media companies.

ALSO: Wind companies handed out large amounts of cash over the past few years. Some call this ‘hush money’.

Stockton, ACCC and ACIT were recipients of some of that wind cash / grants. So were many shore towns.

Speaker Steve Young was surprised by how many residents are being kept in the dark, still not aware of just how much disruption this will cause families in Atlantic City.

Black and Latino families will be especially hard hit by this disruptive neighborhood project.

Interesting to see former Margate Business Admin Ken Mosca in attendance. Mosca now working for Atlantic Shores Wind as ‘External Affairs Lead’ where part of his job is to debunk ‘mis-information’.

Mosca parted ways with Margate City after just one year into his three year contract.

Wind Turbines; industrialization of family neighborhoods in Atlantic City.

Most residents of THE RITZ condo high-rise still not fighting back against massive power facility planned for the large lot right next door.

Featured speakers invited by event producer, ‘Sustainable’ Sherri Lilienfeld:

Brigantine Mayor Vince Sera delivered another knock-out speech. Bad actors in Trenton forcing experimental wind turbines just miles off the beaches of Brigantine, Atlantic City, Ventnor, Margate and Longport. We must stop the industrialization of our oceans.

Seth Grossman of Liberty and Prosperity exposed economic scam of inefficient, unreliable wind power. Fossil fuel back-up still necessary. Why ignore nuclear?

Local activist Steve Young says Atlantic City Black and Brown community kept in the dark about what’s being planned for their neighborhood beaches, parks and playgrounds.

Atlantic County Commissioner John Risley, speaking for himself, spoke about risk of placing hundreds of wind turbines, 1,000 feet high, just off the South Jersey coast.

  1. Bravo! This is exactly the kind of New Information the taxpayers need to learn. As more taxpayers become aware of the environmental risks and their soaring financial burdens, support for this wind turbine project is eroding, revealing a growing concern over potential ocean damage and unseen costs of all kinds. Slick lobbyists and special public relations strategists are losing ground (and ocean-floor acres) each time the public learns the truth about the risks and results of this ill-fated wind farm project.

  2. Residents purposely being kept in the dark by the Governor. Local town governments need to step up and inform residents of what’s at stake.

Mayor Vince Sera has helped spread the word and Brigantine is very pro-active.

I doubt very much that if residents and property owners knew the depth of damaging plans as stated in Atlantic Shores Environmental Impact Statements, they would not be outraged.

  3. Why does it seem only Mayor Sera of Brigantine is fighting this! Where are the Ventnor, Margate, Longport commissioners?? Get involved and protect our property investment, electric rates and our marine life!

      1. Yeah, you must be right. Let’s have bad relationships with developers so they take their investments elsewhere, and let’s have embarrassing treatment of high profile visitors all over the media.

        Be critical but be reasonable.

  4. Time to fire those mayor’s from VC, MC, AC, and LP. This impacts the entire island not just portions thereof. Many 2nd home owners should also get on board and call their local and state legislature. Stop if already!!
