Longport Election Sees 4 More Years for Incumbents

Longport Commissioner elections are coming up on May 10. No need for lawn signs and campaign stump speeches though. Incumbents Nick Russo, Dan Lawler and Jim Leeds are all well-liked & well-positioned for their third consecutive, 4-year term…. running unopposed.

All three Longport Commissioners are well-liked and well-supported.

Dan Lawler is a Longport resident for the past 30 years. He’s been a commissioner for eight years. Lawler is a member of the Planning and Zoning boards.

Jim Leeds has lived in Longport for 40 years and has been a Longport commissioner for eight years. Leeds is a former Planning Board member.

Nick Russo has served as Mayor of Longport for the past eight years. Born in Atlantic City. Retired state investigator with the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice. Former Atlantic City police officer and investigator with Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Russo has a doctorate in Education. Member of the University of Phoenix faculty. Active firefighter with Longport Volunteer FD. Russo is also well known for his efforts in preserving a healthy environment and preserving natural resources for future generations.
