Murphy Wants Taxpayers to Fund NJ Migrant Crisis

Governor Phil Murphy now admits that migrants are coming to, and staying, in New Jersey. They’re not all headed to NYC.

So many migrants coming to New Jersey, that Murphy is asking taxpayers to help pay for migrant needs: food, travel, housing, schooling, legal, medical, etc.

“States and cities cannot indefinitely respond to the subsequent strain on state and local resources.”

New Jersey is a sanctuary state, Murphy has supported mass migration into NJ.

Murphy: lingering concerns that Atlantic City International Airport could be used to house migrants.

Other concern: Atlantic City has large inventory of short-term rental properties. Over 1,300 that could be used to house unvaccinated asylum seekers. Landlords would be hard pressed to decline substantial lease payments.

Thousands of illegal crossings are happening each day along the southern border. Migrants then offered plane and bus tickets to anywhere in USA.

Like NYC, Murphy demanding that bus operators give NJ a 32-hour notice before their arrival in New Jersey.

NJ1015.com: Last June, the state was planning to ask permission to use millions in pandemic relief money to provide services and create a “migrant task force,” according to a report in Politico.

  1. No! I’m a senior citizen and I can’t afford myself, let alone some else. I have to work part-time at $15.13 an hour. How can I afford someone else?

      1. Murphy is nuts..the crime in NY from these immigrants IS overwhelming..DO we want this in ATlantic City? HELL NO..nor in any other town in NJ..we as taxpayers are always screwed by these politicians..

    1. First I hear Murphy wanted to protect NJ residents from illegal immigration. Now he wants to have us pay and support them for coming here!

He obviously did mean what he said.

He is not looking after NJ citizens, putting self-serving politics ahead of them! We get who we elected.

      1. Hey Murphy, you pay for them with your substantial wealth. I’m not paying for people who enter our country illegally.

You and the rest of the “Woke” created this garbage and now you want us, the taxpayer, to pay for it.

YOU HAVE SCREWED UP THIS STATE. Head for Italy and see if they will put up WITH YOUR BS.

    2. This will push poverty through the roof. We already have highest auto insurance and property tax. Basically, we are being taxed to death to the point where you can barely live.

They wonder why people are leaving N.J.

  2. Who does this guy think he is the king of New Jersey. Send them to NY . We can not afford his policies currently , now he wants yo pile on more debt. 🤯🤯🤯🤯

  3. To the people that voted him in twice, will be the same that vote for his wife when she runs. Some will never learn and then complain about the result.
Turn the bus around and send it back. We all are struggling in our own right. Let me share the on voice for my wife’s health insurance. Sanitarium not sanctuary.

    1. Exactly send them back to where they came from. We can’t afford our own bills here in NJ. Then they are not vaccinated just send them here to maybe make us sick on top of them wanting us to pay for them to be here. What about the homeless Americans that are already from here who lives here all their life. Why aren’t we helping them. I refused to pay my hard earn money on any of them. Send them BACK ASAP!!!

Hey Murphy how about you come out of your pocket and leave us new jersey people the hell alone, we pay enough in taxes that we can’t afford you wanna open your arms then you can pay for them 2

  5. Bring the immigrants here . Give them some money; give them shelter, food AND do their laundry. But meanwhile our VETERANS who fought to protect out Country AND our HOMELESS live in the streets. Shame on the Politicians. They ALL SEEM TO FORGET CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME. It’s great to help others, but don’t forget your own

      1. I would like to vote on such an idea in the election. I don’t believe we should have to pay for illegals. We didn’t vote to let them in by the thousands. We are retired and are thinking of moving out of this state. It is overwhelming all of us all ready.

  6. It’s time for EVERYONE to get on the same page. WE must back our Mayor’s and Legislators in addition to getting Governor Murphy the Federal Funds necessary to take care of this very Huge Problem. The Governor needs a Task Force. I offer to sit on it. SAFETY IS FIRST.

Disgusting. Governor Murphy you should be ashamed of yourself! People in this state pay more than their share in taxes and work many hours to do so. They provide for their families and sacrifice family time in doing so.

I’m a senior citizen, retired and a caregiver for my husband who fights cancer everyday and nobody helps with my bills!

And now you want us to pay for migrants that are illegal and give everything free, no questions asked? A bus ticket and a ride.

Keep forcing people to leave this state. You are doing a good job of it. This is not the American way.

  8. Just an FYI for clarity:

The migrants arriving by bus are here legally. They are all here under grants of parole, which were given to the migrants in Texas or Florida before they boarded the buses to NJ. Each migrant is in the US until their parole expires (anywhere between 6 months to 2 years).

It should also be pointed out that the governors of Texas and Florida have both confirmed that only legally paroled immigrants have been bused out of their states. If the governors of Texas, Florida, (or any other state) bused groups of undocumented migrants out of state without the migrants having parole, the migrants could potentially apply for T-Visas or U-Visas under the robust anti-trafficking provisions and law enforcement assistance rules and regulations that were implemented in 2017-2018. The grant of a T-Visa or U-Visa can legally lead directly to green card and citizenship status. A grant of parole, cannot, under current law, lead directly to a green card or citizenship.

Both Governor Abbott and Governor DeSantis have stated they would only bus migrants after they had been given parole, so as to avoid the migrants obtaining permanent legal status under T-Visa or U-Visa laws. Again, this is just an FYI post, and is not intended to take a side with respect to the migrant (and larger immigrant) debate
