The City of Ventnor will hold its annual Block Party on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 10a – 5p. on Ventnor Ave between Troy and Portland Ave.
Shop local for Mother’s Day! The block party will feature live musical performers on stage at Portland Avenue, along with three blocks of 50 various crafters, local businesses, a beer garden, and food trucks. Admission is free and leashed dogs are welcome to attend.
New Haven Avenue will be host to a children’s activity area with $20 all-day access that will feature: inflatables, pony rides, and much more. Proceeds will benefit Ventnor City Special Events, the Ventnor Home and School Association, and Ventnor Pirate Cheerleaders.
A puppy kissing booth will also delight all dog lovers with proceeds benefitting a local rescue group.

Since Ventnor already has vendor contacts, when they do seafood fest, since they have the lower part of Dorset Avenue near Ski Beach closed to traffic and a nice wide road not being used, they should also bring in lots of tent vendors, like they do in OC and Sea Isle and line the curb lines on both sides of the street with vendors in addition to the seafood festival.
Since they have many vendors for the Block Party, they should also invite them to participate in the seafood festival and then put out feelers to gain even more vendors. That would make it one of the biggest festivals down in South Jersey and attract even more vendor revenue for the city and more attendees for the festival.
Since Dorset is closed anyway, it’s really a win – win. Just a thought.
