Atlantic City PD Welcomes Three New K9 Teams

The Atlantic City Police Department welcomes 3 new canine officers.

K9 Carlo, K9 Zeus, and K9 Raider.

All three, along with their human partners, just graduated from the Atlantic County John “Sonny” Burke Police K-9 Academy. Training for the new K9 teams began in September and recently concluded.

K9 Officer Robert Reynolds and his partner, K9 Carlo, successfully completed the Patrol Operations & Narcotic Detection Dog Handler Course. They are assigned to the Operations Division.

This team is also the recipient of the John “Sonny” Burke Award that was voted on by the members of the K9 academy class.

K9 Officer Brandon Bower and K9 Zeus and K9 Detective Alberto Valles and K9 Raider successfully completed the Explosive Detection Dog Handler Course.

K9 Officer Bower and his partner are assigned to the Operations Division. K9 Detective Valles and his partner are assigned to the Investigations Division. Detective Valles is also a member of the department’s Bomb Squad.

We also want to congratulate K9 Officer Amir Hughes who received his Scent Supervisory Trainers Certification. K9 Officer Hughes is assigned to the K9 academy to assist in training all of the county’s K9 teams.

Finally, congratulations to all of those that successfully completed their training. We wish all of our K9 teams success and health.
