Sending a special DownbeachBUZZ shout-out to Domenico’s in Ventnor. The popular restaurant is doing their part to boost the visual appearance of this busy, but visually challenged, business district.
Was Domenico’s influenced by past efforts by the Downtown Ventnor organization? Maybe.
Commisioner Tim Kriebel formed Downtown Ventnor a few years back. It’s a non-profit community organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the visual appeal and vibrancy of Downtown Ventnor. Kudo’s to Domenico’s.
As seen in the attached photos, this high-potential block on Ventnor Ave, between Little Rock & Weymouth, certainly has some challenges. With all due respect, maybe we should take up a collection, and buy a letter ‘T’ for Best Bites? That letter has been missing from their front sign for the past 2 years….at least.
Three empty retail spots on the block; the former Ventnor Movie Theater, Steve’s Barbershop, and Ventnor Cleaners have sat empty for quite some time.
Should the old movie house building finally be knocked down? Can it be rehabbed? Either way, the declining former movie house / eyesore issue needs to be dealt with. Structurally, it’s likely getting worse. Cosmetically, it scares away investment from the area, even though the WAWA across the street is insanely busy…..all the time.
