Margate Admin Ken Mosca: No Permits Needed for Podcast Star.

Watch video.

Margate City administrator Ken Mosca is a podcast star. When not managing Margate business and financial affairs, Mosca is co-host of various internet podcasts. These online shows are mostly about sports and comedy, with plenty of trash talk.

Ken Mosca is an expert webcaster. He knows the power of video streaming. It’s a communications platform that Ken leverages to connect with his virtual fan base.

But in Ken’s role as Margate’s Business Admin, Mosca is NOT a fan of live webcasting.

Mosca supports Mayor Collin’s ban on live ZOOM video and YouTube access video access to all Margate public meetings, like the Commission and Planning Board meetings.

Margate residents, 75% of which are second homeowners, rely on internet streaming to watch and participate in public meetings. Why do Mayor Collins and Admin Mosca block access?

Digital superstardom may have gone to Ken Mosca’s head?

Latest issue: Despite being warned by Galantino, Mosca started renovation work inside the Margate municipal building without required construction permits. That’s a huge no-no, according to NJ State.

Despite being legally required and warned by Margate’s construction official, Ken Mosca ignored the construction official and started the work, forcing Galantino to ‘red tag’ the work.

Galantino was forced to issue a ‘stop-work’ order on October 31, 2023, against Mosca and Margate City.

In accordance with the Uniform Construction Code (UCC), permits are required for significant renovation work that is taking place in the Margate municipal building.

The Margate Business Administrator placed construction official Galantino in such a difficult position.

In addition to failing to obtain a building permit, the renovation project has been ‘paused’ for some reason. That’s according to an email from Mosca dated November 2, 2023, only 2 days after the stop-work order was issued.

Mosca acted in an unprofessional and reckless manner by not following the sound guidance of Jim Galantino.

Mosca’s non-compliance prevented the project from moving forward in a timely, safe, and legal manner. He wasted both time and taxpayer dollars.

According to city documents acquired through OPRA: confusion among two general engineering firms, an electrical engineering company, an architect and a HVAC company working on the project. The city’s public works department is also involved with project.

Public Comment: Remember, Mayor Mike Collins campaigned on ‘full transparency’ if elected. Collins, the owner of Colmar Hardware, has yet to fulfill that promise. Mosca agrees with Collins. Keep the video cameras off. Collins and Mosca disrespect second homeowners that don’t vote in Margate, but pay 75% of taxes.
