The Longport Beach Patrol is looking for a few good men and women to help keep our beaches safe this Summer.
Lifeguard tryouts will be held 10:45a on June 13 & 14 at Beach Patrol Headquarters, 33rd & Atlantic avenues.
Candidates must turn 16 by Aug. 21 or older. Practice sessions will be held 3:30-5:30 p.m. starting June 8.
Applicants must submit a waiver form and doctor’s note at Borough Hall by 4 p.m. Thursday, June 12. Failure to do so will result in candidate not being able to take the lifeguard test.
The test will include:
- 1-mile run
- 200-yard surf dash
- Simulated boat pulley raise
- Lifeguard stand carry
- Paddleboard rescue simulation
- Quarter-mile swim
- Quarter-mile row
- Surf dash
