Replace all lead pipes that carry water. Get it done in less than 10 years. It’s gonna be expensive, and the clock is ticking.
Bond Ordinance. It’s a NJ State mandate. Ventnor City is bonding for $22 million.
City Wide, Lead Pipe Replacement. This taxpayer funded project must be completed by 2032.
But wait. There’s more. Ventnor homeowners will need to replace all lead-based pipes on their individual properties too.
Ventnor Public Works Chief / Engineer Ed Stinson said approx 5,200 properties have lead / galvanized service (water) lines that will need to be replaced within the next 10 years.
Homeowners must replace curb to building piping, or show proof that it’s been replaced.
Something City of Ventnor is being forced to do.

Galvanized steel pipes and flexible lead pipes can leach lead into the water it carries. Lead poisoning can occur. As of 1987, homes are no longer built with any type of lead service line.

My family and I lived in Ventnor over 50 years. Many senior neighbors up to 92 years old. We are all in good health. Why this spending?
This is a major expense that will affect many seniors who live in fixed income. Besides the city expense homeowners must pay to have their pipes changed a few thousand dollars.
Another way of chasing citizens out of the state.
It’s all political and will benefit lobbyists who support current administration.
All this free money being thrown around for open borders, ILLEGAL immigrants, Ukraine, Climate Change, Electric Vehicle
subsides and more.
Why can’t NJ and Fed go one step further and include pipe installation from curb to homeowners water meter?

This will also trickle to tenants paying increased rental costs. Very sad.
I moved to Florida summer 2021. Their (NJ) goal is for people to lose their homes so the private equity firms can own the housing and RENT to people.
They do not want people OWNING anything! Move to the REAL AMERICA – FLORIDA.
