Great news for Sack O’ Subs fans. The wait is finally over.
Last year, a devastating fire destroyed this iconic Ventnor sub shop as well as two apartments above.
And now it’s confirmed, Sack O’ Subs is getting redesigned, rebuilt and will reopen late Fall 2023.
Sack O Subs will switch spots with it’s tasty neighbor, Mr. Gordos Mexican Taqueria.

Mr. Gordos will have a larger space with expanded outdoor dining and additional seating.
Gordo’s owner, Robert Idell, is stoked about this improved business district featuring WAWA, AAAA Bikes and the Ventnor Square Movie Theatre.
Return of Sack O Subs in Ventnor
The Sack O’ Subs Ventnor location was started by Anthony ‘Fuzzy’ Sacco.
Fuzzy was a co-founder of White House Subs in Atlantic City back in 1947. He decided to open his own Sack ’O Subs location in Ventnor in 1969.
Anthony Sacco is a third-generation owner. He will continue the family tradition of serving famous subs and Italian favorites.
The new Sack O’ Subs / Mr Gordo’s is expected to be ready and open for business by late 2023.

That is great news!!
A slice of good news indeed. Those flames were salt on a wound that wanted to heal. Collaboration and vision will win out. While it won’t be anything like the old SackOs it will be a place to get great food and a friendly wave. We do need more friendly waves of all kind. Best wishes to all.
Good news: Sack o Subs is re-opening. Bad news: I’m gonna gain at least 10 lbs.
I hope Sack o Subs take care of cleaning up their trash and recyclable better than Mr. Gordo’s. The back of the building is a disgrace.
Great News about Sacko’s Subs. Fuzzy Sacko is one of the one most decent and kindest guys in this community. I am happy to see this iconic location bearing his name is being re-invented and restored.
I Hope Mr Gordos hires better help, we didn’t go back because they were standing around instead of attending to dirty tables and taking paid checks off tables : (
