The Margate City Police Department is investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from a residence in town that occurred on Saturday morning September 9th at approximately 3:40am.
Home security footage that captured the actual theft in progress was obtained by Margate Police. The footage depicts two actors within the covered driveway of the residence attempting to gain entrance to the vehicle.
One of the actors is seen to be in possession of what appears to be a handgun in the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt or jacket.
Eventually the two depart the area with the stolen vehicle.
The Margate City Police Department would like to remind all residents to take precautions to safeguard their vehicles and homes.
If you happen to encounter someone on your property in person or capture someone on video of your property please do not attempt to confront them yourself. Call 9-1-1 and report it to police immediately.
