Taxes, Bulkhead & Parking News in Longport

New bulkhead heights have been approved in Longport. Effective immediately, bayfront bulkheads; concrete, steel, vinyl or wood, must be at least 9.75 feet high. Max height is 10.25 ft.

Parking regulations have been revised. Longport is reducing the two-hour parking limit in the business district between 24th and 25th ave to one hour. This will only be valid from 7a to 4p on angled parking spots on Atlantic Avenue. A one hour limit will be 24/7 for all other parking spaces on the north side of Atlantic Ave. Note: Three handicapped parking spaces have been installed on beach blocks.

Longport budget has been adopted. No tax increase.

Mayor Nicholas Russo and the commissioners approved a $6.02 million municipal budget, which called for no tax increases. Department heads and municipal employees stepped up and helped keep the budget under control.
