A smashing, opening night success for the South Jersey Players. The homegrown theater group received rave reviews for their first of 3 nights at Aroma Restaurant in Ventnor on March 8.
Ticket holders enjoyed a delicious, Aroma dinner that featured chicken parmesan, chicken marsala and pasta primavera.
The Aroma dinner theater was a BYOB event. North Beach Liquor even delivered a basket of cheer to share their commitment to NOBE, the North Beach Ventnor community. South Jersey Players used the wine donation as a door prize give-away.
Producing Artistic Director, Marlene May, gave a curtain speech thanking donors and asking for additional financial support to match an Atlantic County grant.
Five ten-minute plays (SJP’s trademark model) engaged the audience in each story of romance and mystery.
Scott Friedman, a local standup comedian, rallied the crowd to watch the 10-minute presentation of five short plays by local and guest playwrights.
Patrons enjoyed family style seating, making new friends as Reid Alburger entertained with classical guitar.
