Atlantic City’s Plan to be Cannabis Capital of USA

Unlimited Cannabis?

Atlantic City, CRDA, and the State of NJ turning AC into the Cannabis Capital of USA?

The Mayor of Atlantic City and his Weed Czar certainly want that title. Listen to audio below.

So far, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has approved site plans for 17 cannabis operations in Atlantic City. There is NO CAP on the number of cannabis businesses that can be approved by the city and the CRDA.

Lance Landgraf is the Directory of Planning for the CRDA. In his spare time, Landgraf is the Mayor of neighboring Ventnor.

Lack of public comment. It’s as if residents and small business are oblivious to major changes planned for the city’s economic landscape.

Some recently announced Atlantic City cannabis projects:

  • 1812 Baltic, near Tanger Outlets. Cultivation & sales. Office space.
  • Atlantic License Dev. Retail & consumption lounge. 901 Atlantic Ave.
  • Sweet Leaves, Retail dispensary & consumption. 19-21 Tennessee Ave.
  • Tree Breeze, Recreational dispensary, 27 S. Columbus Blvd.
  • Design 710, 12 Park Place. Medical dispensary adding recreational.
  • High Rollers dispensary & consumption lounge, Claridge Hotel.

CRDA board members asking: When will enough be enough? We have concerns about improving the quality of life for residents.

One particular cannabis application (a cultivation facility) isn’t actually in the Green Zone. More proof that cannabis operations could eventually show up in Chelsea and Lower Chelsea neighborhoods.

No public comment. On anything. Do Atlantic City residents really know what’s going on? Press of Atlantic City and local radio broadcasters not adequately covering story.

Atlantic City has taken a position to support as many marijuana companies as possible.

AC Mayor Marty Small

Social media chatter: The social justice narrative that was pushed to get weed legalized, has been quickly forgotten.

Family neighborhoods in Atlantic City will be disrupted. Most financial benefits of legal weed will go to Trenton and cannabis companies controlled by distant 3rd parties.

How many cannabis operations in AC are enough? It’s getting out of control.

CRDA Director of Planning, Lance Landgraf explains CONSUMPTION: public consumption is not technically permitted, like walking the streets or even the boardwalk. I know that it occurs. It’s supposed to be taken home and consumed on your own personal property. A lot of places are adding consumption lounges. You can go into them like a a bar or restaurant. Actually smoke the product, eat the product. However you’re consuming it, you can do that in a consumption lounge.

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small says the city wants to support as many weed companies as possible. Members of City Council disagree.

  1. I wonder if it will go better than all of those failed promises from casino gambling that was going to solve all of Atlantic City’s issues and also assist Atlantic County?

Atlantic City is known as the “World’s Playground” and will now also be known as the “Marijuana capital of the United States.”

So much for trying to make Atlantic City a family resort to attract more tourists. Perhaps, if some of the gamblers are now high as well as drunk, the casinos will profit at the gaming tables.

    1. Wrong again anon

AC was trying to be known as the world’s playground 50 years ago. And towns can be many different things to different people, even look at Vegas in the past decade or more.

The people coming to AC with kids for beach and boardwalk/rides don’t care about gambling and shows.

Those coming for gambling and shows don’t care about amusements.

And the challenges with drugs and safety affect all.

      1. Nice try?

You make a good point in reference to the visitors.

However, you miss the more important, larger point that Atlantic City really missed a golden opportunity with casino gambling, especially when they were the only other location outside of Vegas to have gambling and the tax revenues were really not utilized effectively for Atlantic City, etc.

Take a drive around Atlantic City outside of the casinos and the retail stores, much of it remains the same which is sad. It some way, the city is even worse than before.

  2. Dorset Avenue in Ventnor Heights is a perfect location for a cannabis store.
I would rather stay out of Atlantic City.
It would be within walking distance.

  3. Atlantic City is now a full fledged Ghetto. Ghetto zombies run the government, destroyed the boardwalk with its Ghetto shops.

But remember you can drink and smoke weed on the boardwalk.

Next add the windmills for the white woke crowd from you know where.

A real playground, with the equipment vandalized. Home sweet home bro.
