More Migrant Buses Headed to New Jersey

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that 10 buses brought illegal migrants to the state of New Jersey, that’s according to NJ Congressman, Jeff Van Drew.

The buses reportedly came from Texas and Louisiana.

Border states like Texas relocating over-flow of undocumented asylum seekers via buses, trains and airlines.

Congressman Van Drew wants answers from NJ Gov Murphy and Secretary Mayorkas of Homeland Security.

More migrant buses headed to Atlantic City and other NJ towns?

In 2018, Attorney General Gurbir Grewal issued the ‘Immigrant Trust Directive’, which effectively made New Jersey a sanctuary state.

NJ Gov Murphy, Atlantic City Mayor Small and County Commissioner Coursey have fully supported sanctuary status in the past.

The Atlantic City Airport is already on a short list of potential, migrant tent cities. Unconfirmed reports suggest short-term rental homes could be used to house migrants, at least on a temporary basis. Atlantic City has over 1,300 short-term rental properties that often sit empty in the off-season.

Most short-term rentals operate within the ‘Tourism District’ controlled by NJ State via CRDA.

CRDA is the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. They allocate and award casino tax revenues to a variety of projects.

Van Drew: “South Jersey refuses to face the same fate as New York City, which has been forced to cut public safety and education funding in order to feed and provide housing to individuals who crossed our border illegally.”

From Star Ledger: Hundreds of thousands of migrants have been streaming to the border. The federal government has dropped the ball not only on dealing with the sheer number of migrants but also with enacting any measure of legislative reform that may ease the crisis. The fed plan seems to be to call on the states to pick up the slack. An earlier version of Gov. Phil Murphy: declaring New Jersey a “sanctuary state”.

“The New Jersey Governor is allowing our state to be overrun by illegal immigration” said Congressman Van Drew.

Are additional buses being sent to our state? How much this will cost the taxpayer? Any plan to mitigate the continual influx of migrants at the border?
