The Ventnor City Police Departments K9 Unit competed in the USPCA National Detector Dog Trials May 5 through 8 in Albany, New York.
The Ventnor K9 Unit took first place nationally in the Teams Narcotics Competition.
K9 Lieutenant David Gaeckle placed 9th overall in the individual Narcotics Competition.
The VCPD K9 unit consisted of K9 Lieutenant David Gaeckle with his K9 partner Axel and K9 Officer Marc Franco Jr. and his K9 partner Joker.
There were a total of 52 K9 teams competing from across the United States.
The VCPD K9 Unit was proud to represent the City of Ventnor and looks forward to continued service to our community. The K9 Unit greatly appreciated the support received leading up to the USPCA National trials.
