AC Mayor Small Ignores Chelsea Crime.

The Atlantic City Police Department arrested six teen males and charged them with carjacking and other related offenses following two separate, carjacking incidents.

On November 29, 2023, at 8:56p, patrol officers responded to the beach block of south Raleigh Aven in reference to a carjacking. This is in the vicinity of the Warwick Condominium, located between Atlantic Ave and the boardwalk.

Officers located the male victim, 68, of Atlantic City, suffering from injuries sustained during the violent carjacking. The victim is reportedly a resident and condo board member of the Warwick.

The victim was assaulted by a group of teens males from Atlantic City who then stole the victim’s car. Victim was transported to AtlantiCare and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation was started. One day later, the victim’s car was found in Pleasantville.

Great work by ACPD detectives. They identified 2 teens as suspects in the brutal carjacking. They were soon located and arrested. As the investigation continued, three additional suspects were arrested.

On December 16, two of the teen suspects involved in the Raleigh Ave incident were arrested for their alleged role in a carjacking at Ocean Casino Resort.

Six Juveniles Males Arrested in Two Separate Carjacking Investigations

At 10:49p, ACPD officers responded to the Ocean Casino parking garage. A 72 yr old was carjacked. The elderly victim was pulled from their vehicle by three young teenagers.

The suspects stole the vehicle and fled the parking garage. Ocean Casino security personnel provided ACPD officers with video surveillance of the suspects.

Shortly after, ACPD located the stolen vehicle. The suspect driver fled from officers and lead them on a dangerous pursuit that left Atlantic City. The pursuit was called off after becoming an increased risk to the public.

At 12:25a, the stolen vehicle was located near the 700 block of Arctic Ave in Atlantic City.

Officers Moustafa Maarouf and Jennifer Sanchez located three males in the area. They were identified as the suspects and arrested.

Public Comment:

Residents demand action. Mayor Marty Small and Commissioner Ernest Coursey supported ‘Defund The Police’ movement a few years back.

We need a police presence in this part of AC, says a resident who wished to remain anonymous.

Gov Murphy and the Small administration gutted our police department. Hardcore criminals, many under 18, know they won’t be prosecuted to fullest extent of the law. Teens taught to disrespect Atlantic City police. Governor’s soft-on-crime mandates are to blame.

Too much anti-cop rhetoric amplified by ‘civic’ leaders.

Mayor Marty Small’s ineffective ‘Anti-Violence’ squad. Millions of dollars of grant money wasted. Some on this team don’t stop violent crime, but actually contribute to it.

GOOD IDEA: Remove armed security detail from AC Mayor Small. Transfer manpower to Chelsea area.

chris brown DCA
Super Chris Brown of DCA.

Former NJ Senator Chris Brown’s position with NJ DCA is not needed. Brown reports to NJ Gov Murphy. Unknown job description. Take Brown’s $150k salary and hire 2-3 cops for patrolling the Lower Chelsea, Chelsea, and Chelsea Heights neighborhoods of Atlantic City. Chris Brown, a resident of Ventnor, knows that rampant AC crime often bleeds over into Ventnor, Margate and Longport.

Crime holds back efforts of Chelsea Economic Development Director, Elizabeth Terenik. She was hired to attract business and fill the empty store fronts in this part of town. Raging crime keeps business away. Ex: Even Stockton warns students to stay on campus.

Atlantic City Crime Coursey Bader Field

Atlantic County Commissioner Ernest Coursey should relinquish control of the all-cash parking lot during Bader Field special events. Those substantial funds (amounts often unknown) can hire more patrols for neighborhoods on the Downbeach side of Albany Ave.(Rte 30)

CRDA should take control of Bader Field. The all-cash parking shenanigans by Mayor Small’s Chief of Staff, Ernest Coursey, is well-documented and potentially criminal in nature.

Atlantic County Commissioner ‘Cash-Only Coursey’ Parking Lot Scam?

CRDA recently hired armed security for their offices. CRDA must help AC solve their crime problem first, before anything else. Public Safety is JOB #1. Without safe streets and boardwalk, AC will scare off business, families and investors. See: Shoprite.

Many predict Dave and Busters will face serious challenges.

  1. A disappointed tax payer

Atlantic City will never be any better as long as Marty Small is mayor – he has said over and over that the city is clean and safe yet we know better. He is not a serious person and proves that every time he forces people to say “great day, can you say great day”. He does not care about taxpayers and has no vision of what a first class city should be. The folks in his administration are incompetent.
