Ventnor Planning Board Meeting affecting both MARGATE and VENTNOR.
Water Dog Smoke House could be coming to 7319 Ventnor Ave., site of the former SUN BANK on the border of Ventnor & Margate. The developer is seeking a minor site plan approval.
At least 5 year-round residents will be attending the Ventnor City Planning Board meeting on FEB 25 at 6:30p.
Neighbors will express concerns about this new ‘smokehouse’ type of restaurant that could soon replace the former Sun Bank. We understand that surrounding residents just received notice on Thursday. Neighbors not happy about that one.
Developer asking for parking variances and other “reasonable” variances. Residents say they have very limited parking now. Many share driveways… or don’t even have driveways. Parking already bad. Where will employees park?
One concern: How will restaurant filter or contain smoke from a wood-burning operation? Will ‘smoking’ take place on premises? According to Steve Marchel, a partner of Waterdog Smoked Fish … there will be NO smoking of food done on these premises.
Concerned residents did reach out to the Restaurant Permit Manager from the Atlantic County Environmental Health Dept (609-645-5971, ext. 4367). From what we’ve been told, they have yet to receive any permit applications for this project.
