No sleeping allowed on the Ventnor Fishing Pier. On July 22, all 3 commissioners voted to prohibit overnight sleeping on the pier located at Cambridge Ave and the Boardwalk. The last straw: people are found sleeping on mattresses, early in the morning.
New security measures were also discussed at the Commissioners meeting, as some continue to sneak onto the permit-only portion of the pier.
Even though video surveillance cameras are already installed, they may not be enough to keep the pier orderly.
Solution: the Ventnor Pier Master office will eventually be moved to where the permitted, fishing-only gate is located. Upgrades to that gate are being planned. Much better position for pier master to keep an eye on things.
The Ventnor Fishing Pier measures 1000 feet. It’s the longest ocean fishing pier in New Jersey, open 24 hours/day.
Cool: the current pier office, next to the restrooms, could be home to a much requested snack bar, sometime in the future.
Hope when the pier snack bar opens it’s menu will COMPLIMENT the ICE CREAM the Vetrans sell on the beach, NOT COMPETE with the Veterans.
Are YOU for real? Who cares? So tired of hearing about how we need to accommodate everyone?
What kind of fish can you catch on the pier
